From the Day You Saved My Soul

I like the folksy “From the Day” by I AM THEY. The song released in 2014 and was the debut single for the band. Listening to the lyrics of this song, I was reminded of 2 Corinthians 5:15.

And he died for all so that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for the one who died for them and was raised.

“From the Day” is a call to respond in faithful obedience to God’s command that we begin living for him. It’s a great song to open corporate worship. Since Christ was raised from the dead, He raises us from spiritual death. And one day, just as Jesus was raised from the grave, we will be physically raised too. The proper response is to live our lives in gratitude for the One who gave everything for our freedom.

From The Day Lyrics

When You found me, I was so blind

My sin was before me, I was swallowed by pride

But out of the darkness, You brought me to Your light

You showed me new mercy and opened up my eyes

From the day You saved my soul

‘Til the very moment when I come home

I’ll sing, I’ll dance, my heart will overflow

From the day You saved my soul

Where brilliant light is all around

And endless joy is the only sound

Oh, rest my heart forever now

Oh, in Your arms I’ll always be found

My love is Yours

My heart is Yours

My life is Yours Forever

    Justin,
Thanks for sharing this scripture, the song and your thoughts! My love & heart & life are yours forever!

Faithful obedience to the command we begin living for Him. As we obey He continually fills us to overflowing with His Spirit and enables us to glorify Him in all we do! Only then can we accomplish His good will.

Thank you for the great reminder of who we are in Him. Not only does He never leave or forsake us, He equips us by the in dwelling of the Holy Spirit.
