So we’re still living thru the pandemic. What we choose to think about and listen to takes on greater importance in moments of uncertainty and crisis.
In his letter to the Philippians, Saint Paul explains how to avoid worrying and being consumed by anxiety (Philippians 4:5-7). A big part of the remedy involves praying with thanksgiving. This obedient act of faith is the pathway to experiencing God’s presence and peace. Immediately after faithfully taking our anxieties and worries to God in prayer, Paul gives a follow on directive:
Finally brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any moral excellence and if there is anything praiseworthy—dwell on these things. 9 Do what you have learned and received and heard from me, and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you. (Philippians 4:8-9)
Toward that endeavor, a way to dwell on true, lovely, pure, commendable, just, praiseworthy, and honorable things is to listen to music that helps us worship a God who is praise-worthy, true, lovely, honorable, pure, commendable, and morally excellent. Without further ado, here are ten songs that will lift your spirit as you praise the God who loves you and gave Himself for you. I challenge you to listen to them on youtube or purchase them on apple music or amazon and put them on repeat throughout the day or week. Guarantee it will enhance your life as you dwell on God’s faithfulness.
