Music Mondays: The Blessing by Elevation Worship featuring Kari Jobe & Cody Carnes

On a scale of 1 to Inject This Song into my Veins, this song gets the full injection treatment. I heard it for the first time this past week, and I can’t stop playing it. It’s a beautiful reminder of God’s faithfulness and graciousness toward His people. I also love the emphasis that God is always with us and for us. The lyrics combine blessings and truth from Numbers 6:24-26, Psalm 139:5, and Romans 8:31. I think this song fits best as an excellent benediction to close a corporate worship service. However, it’s a great song to sing corporately before the message as well.

The Lord bless you And keep you Make His face shine upon you And be gracious to you The Lord turn His Face toward you And give you peace Amen May His favor be upon you And a thousand generations And your family And your children And their children And their children May His presence go before you And behind you And beside you All around you And within you He is with you He is with you In the morning In the evening In your coming And your going In your weeping And rejoicing He is for you He is for you He is for you

Important Note: I love Elevation Worship, but I am deeply troubled by Elevation Pastor Steven Furtick’s recent statements regarding the Trinity. In a recent message, he espoused the heresy of modalism. I am praying for Steven and sincerely hope he repents of this theological error and affirms the biblical view of the Trinity.
